The closer the new year gets, the more i realize how good i have it here in Chicago for multiple reasons.
Chicago's beer scene is continuing to expand with the opening, or planned opening, of a few new breweries/brewpubs such as
- Half Acre Beer Company offered new one offs/specials (Double Daisy Cutter, Thunder and Son, Freedom of '78 for example).
- Metropolitan Brewing Company released an alt Beer (i think they were released in 2010), as well as an india pale lager and a ginger infused alt beer for Chicago beer week.
- Goose Island released more Belgian inspired beers (Fleur, Madame Rose, Lolita, etc ), a series of stouts (Bourbon County Vanilla Stout, Bourbon County Coffee Stout, Rare Bourbon County Stout), and a pale ale (the green line pale ale)
- Flossmoor released plenty of new beers (12, Hoppy Hoppy Joy Joy, 357, etc) and they are bringing back their 12 beers of Christmas this year
